Ann Curry

Ann Curry is an American journalist and photojournalist who has been a reporter for more than 45 years focusing on the human suffering in war zones and natural disasters. Curry has covered wars across the world, including in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, (born November 19 1956 Agana American journalist, television anchor and news reporter who was most well-known for her role as a correspondent for the Today show a morning news program that was broadcast through the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry was well-known for her reporting on catastrophes caused by natural causes and humanitarian crises which occurred in war-ravaged areas. Curry is the daughter of an U.S. Navy sailor and a Japanese woman. She met her mother while working alongside her father in Japan in the aftermath of World War II. As a result of her father's military service, the family moved several times. Curry attended High School in Ashland Oregon. After graduating from University of Oregon, Curry obtained a bachelor's degree in journalism in 1978. She was exposed to a variety of cultures and experiences during her growing up years is likely to have influenced the compassion in her approach to international topics. She moved back in Los Angeles four years later working as a journalist at KCBS TV. During the six years she worked for KCBS the station, she won two Emmy Awards.
